Specialty CEDS Consultation
As a consultant, I will provide a nurturing and educational environment where you can enhance your clinical skills, deepen your understanding of therapeutic modalities, and receive guidance on ethical considerations. I can offer you skills to use sensation-based reflection and inquiry to help you understand how you can take care of yourself, both during and after session, and keep you and your clients on the right track.

What is Specialty CEDS Consultation?
For professionals seeking certification with the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp™), I offer specialized consultation. I am certified as an eating disorder specialist and hold a consultation credential (CEDS-C) from iaedp™, which I received in 2019. I am well-versed in the unique challenges faced by individuals with eating disorders and provide comprehensive guidance to help you develop expertise in this specialized area. This service is not supervision for professional licensure, rather it is intended to provide expert case consultation and professional education regarding the therapeutic treatment of eating disorders. Our meetings can be used to meet the consultation requirement, as your work toward your credential. Please check with iaedp™ to learn more about the full requirements.
What does Specialty Consultation look like?
Specialty consultation is an opportunity to focus on aspects of eating disorder treatment that you will be learning in the iaedp™ core curriculum while integrating common dimensions of professional practice. Both individual (required) and group consultation (optional) are available.
Professional practice dimensions we will deepen during consultation:
Developing your eating disorder professional identity
Using best practices for collaboration with other disciplines and professionals
Applying your theoretical orientation to the treatment of eating disorder clients
Refining your eating disorder clinical and administrative skills
We will use a transdiagnostic approach (meaning many maintaining factors are largely the same between diagnoses) and use Acceptance and Commitment therapy and somatic practices as a lens through which to discuss your cases.
Areas of focus related to eating disorder treatment
Social and personal factors that contribute to the maintenance of the illness
Specific case conceptualization to help your clients to develop insight into their illness
Accurate assessment and diagnosis
Medical stabilization
Behavior interruption
What does Group Consultation look like and what are the benefits?
iaedp™ allows for a certain amount of group consultation to count toward your consultation hours. With this option you will hear from your peers and discuss cases, using the dimensions and focus areas listed above, to learn from each other. This can be a great addition to individual consultation. Here are some benefits:
Provides an opportunity to connect and network with other professionals
Provides practice presenting cases to other professionals
Provides peer support
Provides an opportunity to collaborate on challenging cases
Each group is a “closed group” meaning that you will have a chance to develop relationships with the same professionals every week for 6 weeks. Maximum capacity is 5 clinicians per group. Feel free to ask your classmates or colleagues about forming a group! Please check with iaedp™ for specifics on how to use group consultation to fulfill your certification requirements.
