Who do you supervise?

  1. I supervise graduate students working towards a degree in psychology and early career clinicians who are looking to gain hours toward licensure in the state of Colorado.

  2. I also provide specialized consultation services to iaedp™ supervisees. This is technically consultation and is not intended for professional licensure and is intended to provide expert and professional education and advice regarding the treatment of eating disorders for the iaedp™ supervisee in partial fulfillment of the requirements to obtain a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) designation from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™). Please check with iaedp™ to learn more. Iaedp Certification Overview

What if I can’t afford your full rate?

I do have a few sliding scale spots, so should you feel like you need this option, let me know and we can discuss your circumstances, your goals, and make a plan.

What does individual supervision look like?

Professional practice includes several dimensions that we will discuss in an ongoing way in supervision: administrative effectiveness, developing your professional identity, skill development, forming your own theoretical orientation, and then refining your clinical skills through that lens.

For those of your working towards your LPC, if you are seeing clients, I will need to have some information about your clients since you will be practicing under my license. Your clients will also have to understand that you are still in a supervisory phase of licensure and have my contact information.

For those of you working toward your iaedp™ certification, this is technically consultation so I do not accept liability of your clients. We will focus on aspects of eating disorder treatment that you will be learning in your core curriculum along with the above listed dimensions of practice (see above). We will also focus on medical stabilization, behavior interruption, and insight-oriented psychotherapy with your clients who have all forms of the illness. I use a transdiagnostic approach (many maintaining factors are likely to be largely the same) and use Acceptance and Commitment therapy and somatic practices as a lens through which to discuss your cases.

What does Group Supervision look like?

I love groups and group supervision. For an hour and half, on a weekly basis, you have the benefit of hearing from your peers and getting support and normalization that you are not alone, and we are all in this together. During group we will discuss cases and use the dimensions listed above to learn from each other. This is a less expensive option than individual supervision, but you need to check how many hours of individual and group therapy your license requires.

There are several days and times that this will occur on a weekly basis, and each group is a “closed group” meaning that once you join a group you will need to attend that group. Minimum commitment to a group is 6 weeks. Maximum capacity is 8 clinicians per group. Feel free to ask about forming a group with your classmates or peers!
